Employment Opportunities

We have a holistic approach to supporting people, based on the philosophies and teachings of Rudolf Steiner.

Hōhepa is always on the lookout for keen, hard-working people to join our team and assist in our vision of ‘every life fully lived’. We employ people in a range of roles, including residential support (working with adults) day programs support, maintenance, administration and management positions.

When you work at Hōhepa Auckland, you are part of something very special.  We are a community leader providing services and support for people living with an intellectual disability based on the anthroposophical principles of Rudolf Steiner. We actively engage with the people we support to empower them to develop to their fullest potential and lead enriched and meaningful lives in a holistic, supportive environment.

When we recruit new staff, we seek people who are open, caring and who bring a collegial approach, working positively with clients, colleagues, families and management. We look for team players who recognise that the team includes more than the people they work with on a daily basis.

At Hōhepa Auckland, most staff support people in their homes with meal preparation, personal care, medication and transport to hobbies or sports. Staff work alongside the people we support providing training and modelling skills in self-reliance. Hours of work are rostered, and may include overnights

For many of our roles the most important things are your attitude and approach to work (a good sense of humour is great too!); if you have qualifications and experience, they are appreciated but we provide on the job and formal training. Shift work and unsocial hours are a reality for many of our teams, as we are a 24/7 organisation.

We employ a multicultural workforce, with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. What all of our staff have in common is an interest in the Hōhepa community and a passion for supporting people with intellectual disabilities.

We are committed to workforce development and achieving a healthy and safe work environment through good communication and support. Every life fully lived applies just as much to our staff as to the people we support.
