Lives are enriched and people flourish – thanks to the special character and quality of life at Hohepa.

The goodwill of many benefactors, trusts and general public have financially contributed to the development of Hohepa Auckland.

We employ the principles and teachings of Austrian-born Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) whose approach to human psychology and education began from his understanding that in every human being, whatever their apparent impairment there is a spiritual individuality at work, creating its own destiny. Our mission is to stand along these unique individuals and to structure opportunities that enables each to create that personal destiny.

One thing is certain – Hohepa could never have started or developed over the past 50 years without the support of special friends. Financial support of our building programme will be raised through the generosity of individuals, charitable trusts and organisations in the wider community.

Today, Government funding accounts for 85% of our annual operating income, and we rely on community generosity to fund both the capital development and maintenance programmes in our four regions, and the unique services that are inherently Hohepa.

Gifts of all sizes help to maintain and expand our range of services, and provide for the ongoing financial security of Hohepa in Auckland, Canterbury and the Hawkes Bay / Wellington regions.

You can help by:

  • Making provision for a legacy to Hohepa in your Will
  • Supporting our fundraising appeals
  • Sponsoring one of our recreation programmes
  • Funding a gardening activity
  • Granting a bursary for self-advocacy or educational activities
  • Volunteering time.

Hohepa Homes is a registered charitable trust under the Charities Act (Registration No. CC10865) and donations are therefore deductible for tax purposes.
